Frquently Asked Questions

If i have insurance, do I still have to pay for membership?

No, patients can choose either to bill insurance or to cover their office cost with a monthly fee, but not both. The membership is a small group and will have a rolling wait list for those wanting to join.

Will you accept Medicare and Medicaid?

Yes, the Healthy Cocoon Practice is credentialed with many different regional plans for both Medicare and Medicaid. We always recommend you check with both our office and your insurance prior to a new patient appointment.

How much is a membership?

Direct primary care is a growing trend of truly affordable personalized care at $77 per month for each member. By cutting out the middle man and not billing insurance, costs are brought down and more focus is on the patient.

What is included with the membership?

The membership pays for all your visits in the Healthy Cocoon. This includes all office visits, blood draws, injections, virtual home visits, emails, texts and phone calls. The membership covers office based tests and procedures as well.

Are there any office based procedures or tests offered at The Healthy Cocoon that are NOT covered in the membership?

No, not if we do the procedure or test in house. The idea is, if it is in our control, it is covered.

What type of testing is offered within the membership?

Point if care tests with immediate results, such as urine analysis, urine pregnancy tests, rapid strep tests, rapid flu testing, etc. Phlebotomy for send out labs is covered as well. There may be a discount on outsourced laboratory pricing offered as well.

What if I need a lab or a test that is sent out?

Most membership practice models work hard to form relationships with labs and imaging centers to provide very competitive cash prices and The Healthy Cocoon will be working very hard to provide that benefit to its members.

Will I be able to get in when I want to?

Same day appointments when Dr Lira is in the office will be available when appropriate.

How will I reach Dr. Lira?

Members will have a cellular number to text or call Dr. Lira directly with questions or concerns. Patients of the practice will call the office phone number during business hours and can contact the call service after closing for truly urgent concerns.
